What Is Yogic Diet?

Our belief in Karma Yoga and its philosophy is directly responsible for the services that we as a school provide to society. At World Peace Yoga School, you will find every staff and teacher dedicated to service for all, including plants and animals. Karma Yoga is essential for moving the mind and existence beyond Rajas and Tamas. According to the principles of selflessness, a yogic diet stresses on natural, unprocessed food.

It is based on the yogic principles that we study about in the course and believe in. They are:

  • Ahimsa - It is non-violence which drives every individual to connect to all living things. Yoga propagates the idea that the world is a place for all to live together, happily. So, when you refrain from harming other animals for food, it translates to a yogic philosophy put to work.
  • Sattva - It is that ultimate state of purity, truth, and balance that everyone strives for. The yogic scriptures propagate that Sattvic foods promote calmness and clarity.
  • Saucha - It is the practice of cleanliness, also mentioned in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. You can reduce the impurities in the body, by refraining from non-vegetarian and fermented foods.

What Makes Our Teachings Different From The West?

The 1960s saw the propagation of yoga to the western countries. And the west always laid more emphasis on the physical aspects of yoga. However, as Indians, we know that yoga is not just limited to the physical body. Yoga in its true form is an amalgamation of practices aimed to provide solace to the mental and spiritual planes as well. The philosophical teachings from the masters, like Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, and others clearly signify that goes beyond the body that we see. In India, we at World Peace Yoga School believe in complete mind-body-soul surrender. We have set our ashrams in a natural environment, so that students can function more organically. Our main aim is to propagate sustainable living for a greater cause. Through our yoga teacher training in Rishikesh, you will be able to cut off from the material world and look within. We at Rishikesh also utilize several holistic modalities like Ayurveda and Sound Healing to complement yoga practices. We believe in all-round yogic development, rather than just mastery over asanas. That makes World Peace Yoga School a contrasting body of knowledge in today’s busy times.
