What is Yin Yoga?

Yin Yoga originates from the Taoist principle of Yin and Yang, two completely opposite natures complementary to each other. Yin Yoga is a powerful, slow, and subtle form of yoga that offers a deeper impact to tendons and muscles with its meditative impact. In this form of yoga, asanas are combined with pranayama and meditation with a passive relaxation along with deep opening. The postures in this form of yoga are mostly practiced on the floor and held for a longer duration (almost 2 to 5 minutes), the aim is to have a deeper impact on body tissues, tendons, and muscles while connecting the soul through a meditative approach.

It is about letting go of different emotions to delve into a more intense connection with the soul. Yin Yoga works with muscles and connective tissues which are considered almost 90% resistant to the flexibility of the human body. With its longer duration of pose-holding and practice of breath control, Yin Yoga offers a relatively deeper impact while guiding in the direction of complete calmness. Asanas in Yin Yoga are relatively similar to that of Indian Hatha Yoga but practiced differently to offer a completely different meaning to relaxation and energy harvesting.

Food

World Peace Yoga School cares about your health so that we serve the most delicious, healthy, vegetarian/vegan diet for you. According to India’s biggest science of health, Ayurveda, the nature of the body is completely dependent and influenced by food. If food is good, so is your health, and peace of mind.

What Is Yogic Diet?

Yoga believes the body is made of five elements and food also contains five elements and has six tastes. When we consume food that contains each element that is called a balanced diet or yogic diet. The whole science of Ayurveda is based on these principles. Everyone has different tastes. This is not only because of their habits but it is because of what actually the body needs. When we consume food without proper knowledge of what our body needs, we create diseases. However, when we consume food that has all the necessary elements, we are healthy and satisfied.

Yogic food contains proper nutrients that the body needs to grow. Consuming too little or too much food is also very risky for our health, so a holistic diet is very important. Yogis always avoid tamasic food like meat, egg, etc. Avoiding tamasic food helps you become more flexible and compassionate. Listen to Guruji's lecture on Vegetarianism.

A vegetarian or a healthy diet consists of green vegetables, fresh fruits, lentils, beans, plant-based oils like coconut, mustard, peanuts etc. This kind of food is easy to digest and makes us feel lighter, at peaceful, and conscious.
