Know the chakras

Seven Chakras In Kundalini Yoga

The human body holds seven prominent chakras, or centres of Kundalini, as described in the Patanjali Yoga Sutra – the oldest and most systematic form of yoga literature. At World Peace Yoga School, our skilled yogis and masters guide you through the 500-hour Kundalini yoga teacher training and give you strong control over the hidden energy within you.

01 Muladhara chakra symbol
01 Root Chakra

Muladhara

The root chakra, the foundation of the physical and spiritual being of the human body, is called Muladhara. It is the root that connects the three qualities of the soul – Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas – and sits at the root of the spine, forming a strong bond between the body and the soul. It is the main chakra on which all six higher chakras rest. Muladhara is like a storehouse of static energy until it is awakened, and then all energy is directed upward to attain a high state of awareness.

02 Swadhisthana chakra symbol
02 Sacral Chakra

Swadhisthana

Swadhisthana sits just above Muladhara and is the seat of all procreative energy – the reproductive and sexual energy centre responsible for forming life on this earth. It is also counted among the chakras that cause a strong inclination towards sexual desire. When awakened, it gives good control over one’s sexual desires and can take the Brahma Beej to an elevated state.

03 Manipura chakra symbol
03 Solar Plexus Chakra

Manipura

The third chakra, Manipura, is also called the seat of power and is found just below the navel region. It is where our sense of personal identity lives. It is the centre that controls our physical and physiological wellbeing, with a strong influence on the flow of energy through the whole body.

04 Anahata chakra symbol
04 Heart Chakra

Anahata

Anahata is present in the centre of the chest along the spine and governs human emotions. When awakened, it opens a deep sense of happiness and peace – an emotional roller coaster of joy and sadness that settles into pure bliss and peace. Some practitioners also experience a temporary divinity and hear the sound of flutes or humming while this chakra awakens.

05 Vishuddhi chakra symbol
05 Throat Chakra

Vishuddhi

Located in the cervical plexus just behind the throat, Vishuddhi is the chakra of purity. Its awakening brings special capabilities like a sweet voice, singing ability, and expressive speech. Shabd Yoga is the practice needed to awaken it, and it opens easily through mantra japa and listening to devotional music.

06 Ajna chakra symbol
06 Third Eye Chakra

Ajna

Ajna is the supreme chakra, well known to command the whole physical body. It sits just above the eyebrows, exactly in the middle between both eyes. Known as the powerhouse, it brings visions, great flashes of light, and deep stillness. One of the best illustrations of its power is the third eye of Mahadeva Shiva.

07 Sahasrara chakra symbol
07 Crown Chakra

Sahasrara

Sahasrara is the highest level of Kundalini, present at the crown of the skull just above the top of the spinal cord, and pictured as a lotus of many petals. It is the supreme state of accomplishment in the physical body – when awakened, it opens tremendous powers, a state of trance, and the highest state a human can reach. Under a Sadguru’s guidance we can awaken this chakra, systematically tying together an unbelievable amount of energy.

Food

World Peace Yoga School cares about your health so that we serve the most delicious, healthy, vegetarian/vegan diet for you. According to India’s biggest science of health, Ayurveda, the nature of the body is completely dependent and influenced by food. If food is good, so is your health, and peace of mind.

What Is Yogic Diet?

Yoga believes the body is made of five elements and food also contains five elements and has six tastes. When we consume food that contains each element that is called a balanced diet or yogic diet. The whole science of Ayurveda is based on these principles. Everyone has different tastes. This is not only because of their habits but it is because of what actually the body needs. When we consume food without proper knowledge of what our body needs, we create diseases. However, when we consume food that has all the necessary elements, we are healthy and satisfied.

Yogic food contains proper nutrients that the body needs to grow. Consuming too little or too much food is also very risky for our health, so a holistic diet is very important. Yogis always avoid tamasic food like meat, egg, etc. Avoiding tamasic food helps you become more flexible and compassionate. Listen to Guruji's lecture on Vegetarianism.

A vegetarian or a healthy diet consists of green vegetables, fresh fruits, lentils, beans, plant-based oils like coconut, mustard, peanuts etc. This kind of food is easy to digest and makes us feel lighter, at peaceful, and conscious.
