Gentle stretching, deep stillness

What Is Yin Yoga?

Yin Yoga is a style of yoga that focuses on relaxing the body and mind through gentle stretching. Unlike other types of yoga that involve dynamic movement and muscular engagement, Yin Yoga involves holding poses for a few minutes at a time, allowing your body to slowly and gently stretch. During a Yin Yoga practice, you’ll start with a gentle warm-up to prepare your body for the deeper stretching to come. Then, you’ll move into the main part of the practice, where you’ll hold poses for several minutes at a time. You should feel a gentle stretch in the target area, but not pain or discomfort.

Yin Yoga is different from other types of yoga in that it focuses on the connective tissues in your body, such as your ligaments, tendons, and fascia, rather than your muscles. It’s also a great way to promote relaxation and mindfulness, as you’ll be encouraged to focus on your breath and stay present in the moment. Some common Yin Yoga poses include Child’s pose, Dragon pose, Butterfly pose, Caterpillar pose, Half saddle pose, and Square pose. Props such as blocks, bolsters, and blankets can be used to support your body and make the poses more comfortable.

Whether you’re new to yoga or an experienced practitioner, Yin Yoga is a great way to deepen your practice and experience the benefits of gentle stretching and relaxation. Join our Yoga TTC in Bali to learn more about Yin Yoga and become a certified yoga teacher.

What Is Yogic Diet?

A yogic diet is a plant-based diet that focuses on fresh, organic, whole foods with minimal processing and no additives, preservatives, or artificial sweeteners. It is based on the principles of Ayurveda, an ancient Indian system of holistic healing that emphasizes the connection between the mind, body, and spirit. The diet consists of fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, and herbs while avoiding meat, fish, poultry, eggs, onion, garlic, alcohol, and caffeine. Practicing yoga has additional benefits such as improved flexibility, strength, balance, and overall physical and mental well-being. It can also reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep, and promote inner peace and harmony.

The benefits of the yogic diet are:

  • Promotes physical health by providing nutrients, fiber, and antioxidants which can boost the immune system, reduce inflammation, and lower the risk of chronic diseases.
  • Enhances mental clarity by reducing the intake of heavy, oily, or stimulating foods, improving concentration, memory, and focus.
  • Supports spiritual growth by cultivating a pure and harmonious state of mind and body which is conducive to spiritual development.
  • Balances energy through consuming foods that are in harmony with one’s doshas (the body’s energy).
