Embark on a transformative journey through Neo Vipassana, a contemporary meditation practice inspired by the teachings of Osho. Rooted in ancient Vipassana traditions and revitalised with modern insight, it offers a unique approach to mindfulness and self-discovery — guiding you along the path of inner awakening as you shed layers of conditioning to uncover your true essence.

Osho’s Insight

“First you have to dance, first you have to shout in joy and sing, and so your life becomes more vital. First, you have to engage in catharsis, so all that you have repressed is released, purifying both your body of toxins and your psyche of traumas and wounds. When you have laughed, when you have loved, then comes Vipassana…” — Osho

What Is Neo Vipassana?

Neo Vipassana blends the timeless wisdom of traditional Vipassana with Osho’s revolutionary insights. Where traditional Vipassana focuses on deep observation of bodily sensations, Neo Vipassana adds dynamic meditation practices, making the journey into self-awareness more holistic and experiential.

As Osho said, “First your seriousness has to be destroyed, only then will you be able to enjoy Vipassana without becoming serious.” He believed in an approach to meditation suited to the contemporary mind, combining movement, expression, and stillness into a dynamic pathway to inner peace and clarity.

The Philosophy Behind Neo Vipassana

At its heart lies the belief that true meditation is the art of awareness. It is not about escaping reality but embracing it fully, with an open heart and a clear mind. You learn to observe thoughts, emotions, and sensations without judgment, cultivating profound acceptance and inner harmony.

Osho’s teachings remind us that meditation is a celebration of life — a journey of self-exploration where we embrace our authentic selves and live in the present moment. Neo Vipassana is fluid and adaptable, encouraging you to find your own rhythm with the meditative process.

A Journey To Wellness

The Practice And Benefits Of Neo Vipassana

Unlike traditional Vipassana, where you sit for hours in silence, Neo Vipassana is dynamic and playful, and naturally leads you into deep silence and serenity. The practice unfolds in stages, each opening a deeper level of awareness.

Dynamic Meditation

Dynamic Meditation combines movement, breath, and expression to release pent-up emotions and energy, in five stages:

  • Breathing: deep, rapid breathing to energise body and mind.
  • Catharsis: releasing internal tension through movement, sound, and gesture.
  • Mantra chanting: repeating a mantra to centre the mind and prepare for stillness.
  • Stillness: sitting or standing in silence, observing your inner world.
  • Celebration: dancing to celebrate newfound freedom and clarity.

Kundalini Meditation

Kundalini Meditation awakens dormant energy within and moves it through the body’s energy centres, the chakras. It includes:

  • Shaking: releasing energy through spontaneous shaking.
  • Dancing: dancing freely to let go of inhibitions and connect with your inner self.
  • Stillness: sitting or lying in silence, observing the flow of energy.
  • Resting: relaxing into deep tranquillity and integration.

Vipassana Meditation

Vipassana Meditation is the heart of Neo Vipassana, focused on mindfulness and observation. It includes:

  • Sitting in silence: observing your breath and bodily sensations without interference.
  • Mindful walking: walking slowly, attending to each step and movement.
  • Awareness of thoughts: noticing thoughts and emotions as they arise and pass, without attachment.
  • Loving-kindness: cultivating compassion and love towards yourself and others.

Benefits Of Neo Vipassana

  • Increased self-awareness: observing thoughts and emotions without judgment brings deeper self-insight.
  • Stress reduction: the techniques release tension and promote relaxation.
  • Emotional healing: cathartic Dynamic and Kundalini practices help process suppressed emotions.
  • Focus & clarity: regular practice sharpens mental focus and clarity.
  • Spiritual growth: deepens your connection with your inner self and supports spiritual awakening.

“Now Vipassana will not make you serious or drive you into an ego trip. Now, sitting silently is not a heavy task; it becomes an enjoyable, light process. That is the special quality I aim to create in Vipassana — it doesn’t exist anywhere else in the world.” — Osho

Authentic Himalayan tradition, not a watered down tourist course. The anatomy classes alone were worth the trip.
