Food

World Peace Yoga School cares about your health so that we serve the most delicious, healthy, vegetarian/vegan diet for you. According to India’s biggest science of health, Ayurveda, the nature of the body is completely dependent and influenced by food. If food is good, so is your health, and peace of mind.

What Is Yogic Diet?

Yoga believes the body is made of five elements and food also contains five elements and has six tastes. When we consume food that contains each element that is called a balanced diet or yogic diet. The whole science of Ayurveda is based on these principles. Everyone has different tastes. This is not only because of their habits but it is because of what actually the body needs. When we consume food without proper knowledge of what our body needs, we create diseases. However, when we consume food that has all the necessary elements, we are healthy and satisfied.

Yogic food contains proper nutrients that the body needs to grow. Consuming too little or too much food is also very risky for our health, so a holistic diet is very important. Yogis always avoid tamasic food like meat, egg, etc. Avoiding tamasic food helps you become more flexible and compassionate. Listen to Guruji's lecture on Vegetarianism.

A vegetarian or a healthy diet consists of green vegetables, fresh fruits, lentils, beans, plant-based oils like coconut, mustard, peanuts etc. This kind of food is easy to digest and makes us feel lighter, at peaceful, and conscious.

The closest and most convenient airport for you is to fly to New Delhi. If you are visiting India for the first time then it is better for you to take a flight to Dehradun (city nearby), and from Dehradun is a 30 min drive, so you save a hustle.

Delhi airport to Rishikesh by car is a 6 hours journey. We have a transportation package for US$ 150 which will cover your airport pick-ups, transfer from Delhi to Rishikesh (by car), and after completion of the course transfer back from Rishikesh to Delhi. One-way transportation i.e. Delhi airport to Rishikesh can also be availed for US$ 75. In case of the late arrival of your flight at night and you want to stay overnight in Delhi, the airport pick-up cost will be US$ 25 at reasonably good accommodation at the hotel in Delhi for US$ 40 or 50. Our travel arrangements work under the supervision of professionals and we are always ready with a backup plan, in case of emergencies. Another fair option is to travel by train (airport to New Delhi train station by car, then by train to Haridwar and from Haridwar to Rishikesh by car). Traveling by bus is quite cheap but a bit inconvenient for first-time visitors. Less costly hotels can also be found in Delhi (Main Bazar, Paharganj area) for USD 10~20. You can reach Paharganj from Delhi airport by airport metro express in less than 20 minutes and it will cost you less than US$ 2
