The Kundalini Yoga Ashram Retreat in Rishikesh is for people who wish to deepen their connection to their mind, body, and soul through the transformative practice of Kundalini Yoga (as taught by Yogi Bhajan). Students will be introduced to Kundalini Yoga Kriyas (sets), meditations, pranayama, chakras, mudras, mantras, and bandhas, to get an understanding of how to get the most out of Kundalini Yoga in their personal practice to form their own sadhana. There are no levels in Kundalini Yoga so all are welcome.
Kundalini Yoga is the science to unite the finite with Infinity, and it's the art to experience Infinity in the finite. -Yogi Bhajan
The Retreat is designed to develop your personal practice in an ashram atmosphere with like-minded people and without daily life distractions. Staying in the World Peace Yoga Ashram provides the total experience of yogic lifestyle. Through this experience you will fortify your personal practice with a more thorough understanding of Kundalini Yoga and Meditation and how to apply it specifically to your life.
Moreover, you will develop a deeper understanding of yoga psychology and how to implement it in your daily life.
For 7-days you will live like a sadhu dedicating yourself to your personal practice. The Retreat focuses on understanding and removing the obstacles that are preventing you from achieving your potential. This is accomplished through group discussions on yoga psychology, intensive meditation practice, pranayama, and kriya (asana) practice. The work you do in the Retreat will be personalized to your specific life situation. You will be given opportunity to share your own experiences to get feedback on your development. By the end of the Retreat, you will build a self-plan to focus on specific areas of your life to further your own sadhana.
On day one you will have a private consultation with Amarjit Singh where your current practice and life will be discussed. In this session, Amarjit will also analyze your hands to determine your Life Purpose and Life Lesson encoded in your fingerprints. From this you will begin to get a better understanding of how the patterns in your life are creating your current situation. A report detailing your initial consultation will be used throughout the 7-days to develop your own practice and life mission statement.

How to get here:
Get a private taxiWe arrange for many of our students to be picked up directly from the airport and driven straight to their comfy room at Vinyasa Yoga School. The drive is about 6-8 hours depending on traffic, and it’s about 4500 Rupees (or roughly $70 USD). A lot of our students also choose to split the cost of their ride with another student (and bond before the course starts as well.)
Take a public trainTrains are a great way to meet locals and strike up great conversations. There is a public train system that runs between Delhi and Haridwar (a neighboring city of Rishikesh). After Haridwar, you can take a bus or taxi into Rishikesh.
Fly to DehradunYou can fly into the Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun (DED), which is only about 20km (12 mi) away from Rishikesh. Alternatively, you should also check if a flight from your home country to Dehradun is about the same cost as a flight to Delhi, as you’d save about 5-10 hours in land travel time.
