Here are just a few of positive changes that will be happening during your yoga practice;<\/p><p><b>Mindful Eating<\/b><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Many people don\u2019t look after their bodies. We eat junk food, have late nights, forget to prioritise exercise and don\u2019t drink enough water. It\u2019s not surprising that we end up feeling fatigued and depressed. Yoga helps us to come back into the here and now.\u00a0 As we strengthen the body we also strengthen the mind and become more aware of our thoughts and feelings.\u00a0 It makes it easier for us to make positive lifestyle changes and decisions, teaching us to look after our bodies and to keep ourselves clean and healthy.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yoga also encourages us to be more mindful in all areas of our lives. As we eat more mindfully, paying more attention to our food and lifestyle choices, the positive effects encourage us to keep on the right path. \u00a0<\/p><p><b>Weight control<\/b><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yoga is great for weight loss. It tones, strengthens and lengthens the body and works the core. AS with any weight loss activity you should try and practice yoga four or five times a week to get the greatest benefit, or even every day. Yoga helps to raise your metabolism, especially the more vigorous styles such as Ashtanga. Another key benefit of Yoga is that improves bone health by providing weight bearing exercises for your bones.<\/p><p><b>Heart\u00a0 benefits<\/b><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Regular Yoga and Pranayama (breathing exercises) have been proven to lower blood pressure and improve heart health\/function and lower cholesterol.<\/p><p><b>Improves Focus<\/b><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When you\u2019re in a yoga class it\u2019s just you and the mat. Your teacher may be guiding and encouraging you but really it\u2019s you who is doing the hard work. Yoga helps you to overcome mental distractions and teaches you to focus on the matter at hand. Yoga helps to quieten the mind and encourages you to live in the now.<\/p><p><b>Improved Flexibility<\/b><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When practised regularly Yoga improves flexibility and joint mobility. You don\u2019t need to be the most bendy person in the world to join a yoga class, you can start at any level. Over time you will notice your mobility and flexibility improving which will spur you on to go deeper into your practice.<\/p><p><b>Insulin sensitivity<\/b><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yoga has been shown to improve the body\u2019s sensitivity to insulin<\/p><p><b>Improves posture<\/b><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Endless hours working at desks and stopping down takes its toll on our spine. This can leave us tired and with back pain.
